Dry Needling - FAQ
Is Dry Needling the same as Acupuncture?
Dry needling and acupuncture both use thin needles, but they differ in purpose and approach. Dry needling is based on modern Western medicine and targets specific trigger points in muscles to relieve pain and tension. It focuses on musculoskeletal issues like muscle tightness and joint pain. Acupuncture, on the other hand, is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and aims to balance the body's energy (or "qi") by targeting specific points along energy pathways. Both techniques can be effective, but their underlying philosophies and intended outcomes differ.
